My own private hotel in Bruges

I love staying in a hotel in Brugge because it is a city that is easy on the eye, and if you get there, you'll know what I mean. Calming, relaxed and aesthetic. It is also a romantic city, attracting couples much the same way as Paris (but without the exorbitant costs). Spending time in a Bruges hotel will soon convince you of the fact that Bruges is vibrant, alive and is sure to give you a real sense of vitality - it appeals to all ages, so I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and cost effective break away. Easy to get to, You can drive over, train it over or plane it over and then relax in one of the lovely character hotels within the city.

One of the best reasons to go to Bruges is the food! Many many hotels Bruges offer some of the best gastronomic diners you can imagine. But you can ofcourse also try to keep things simple, what is really nice (particularly on a cold day / night) and whilst taking a leisurely stroll through the city is stopping off at the "Groot Markt" at one of the "Friteurs" and treating yourself to a bag of real Belgian Frites dowsed in mayo, Ketchup and mustard as most flems tend to do, then (and only if there is any room left) you can treat yourself to a large fresh waffle with creme and cherries. Of course the diet needs to be on hold for this experience, but they do often say that the simple things are often the best!

This summer is totally going to be it for anyone who pays a visit to Bruges, Belgium, a city that is one of the most perfectly preserved medieval towns in Europe, Brugge is a remarkable living canvas of old Flemish masters. Staying in a hotel in Bruges is at least as good as staying in a hotel in Parijs or in an Amsterdam hotel in the city centre. It's a small city but there's so much to discover. Every tourist should do like me: begin with a guided walking tour to the heart of the city with its magnificent Grand Place filled with quaint houses featuring decorated facades, the Halles - covered market - with its belfry, the Place du Bourg with the Saint Sang Basilica, the Gothic style Townhall and the Beguinage - Beguine Convent. TA cruise on the famous canals is very recommended during the summer season, due to the great weather (usually the best weather around mid july). During high season, Bruges is absolutely submerged in tourists. ake enough time for lunch and shopping, you might buy some handmade lace or Belgian chocolates...

I just got back from some very nice couple of days in a one of the best hotels in Ostend, the one and only coastal city in Belgium, luring thousands of tourists to its shores each year. Ostend is a Belgian city located in the Flemish province of West Flanders. In earlier times, Ostend was a small village built on the east-end of an island (originally called Testerep) between the North Sea and a beach lake. The village rose to the status of "city" around 1265 when the a market hall was built. With wind never in short supply, modern Ostend has become a destination for kite surfers as well as an important port. Nowadays, Ostend is a very popular seaside resort, famous for its sea-side esplanade, pier and fine beaches. It has six beaches around the city. No wonder so many people, whether they are business travellers, single or have families with children, decide to stay a weekend or longer (sometimes even an entire summer) in a hotel in Oostende. Famous tourist attractions Ostend has to offer include the James Ensor museum, showing where the artist lived from 1917 to 1949. The Mercator, a tall ship of the Belgian merchant fleet that has been converted into a maritime museum. And Fort Napoleon is a tourist attraction. But all tourists go mainly for the beaches!

We tried to come up with a few answers. Bruges or Brugge as it is in dutch means Bridge. And that is what Bruges is all about, canals and Bridges. Bruges was during medieval times one of the most important cities of the world due to its connection with the sea. Nowadays we still see that this city is medieval in its roots and in its heart. The entire inner city was placed by the Unesco on its list of world heritage.

Bruges is a charming city which is particularly beautiful during wintertime. It will allow you to travel back into time like you never experienced before. Bruges has the most well preserved buildings of the middle ages in the world.

If you are looking for a hotel in Bruges you will find the accomodation possibilities most charming. There are quite some familyhotels and a few luxury hotels but of course with luxury their of course comes a price ticket. ( for example you have the hotel Oud Huis de Peellaert or hotel Relais Bourgondisch Cruyse ) I myself preffer a little charming hotel because that is what Bruges is all about like Hotel Asiris, not pricy at all and nice and charming. Book your hotels in Bruges easily online, their are quite some sites who offer good accomodation

If you are looking for a fine meal in Bruges, there are a few restaurants I certainly can recommend. There is restaurant Curiosa or restaurant Arthies. If you would like to enjoy a more gastronomic dinner there is always restaurant Aneth. Most restaurant are not that pricy if you don't count the restaurants on the market square.

A hotel in Bruges can be a perfect base for a visit to Belgium as you can easily citytrip to Brussel about 80 km away or Antwerp ( some 70 km ) or Ghent which is only 20 min away in train. If you would like a short visit to the coast in Ostend can be most interesting. Hotels in Brussels or Hotels in Antwerp can easily be fully booked and a hotel in Bruges would than be a preferred choice.

Enjoy your stay in Bruges and remember a citytrip to Bruges during wintertime has just that little bit more.
